Patterson Hood – Heat Lightning Rumbles In The Distance

Drive-By Truckers’ Patterson Hood releases his fourth solo album of gothic Southern country-rock, Heat Lightning Rumbles In The Distance. It first began in the early 90’s as a novel which was later abandoned then resurrected as a spirited collection of songs. While many of Hoods’ works are semi-autobiographical or based on personal experience, Hood fully claims these through use of first person narrative as he reflects upon his difficult early beginnings in contrast to his recent success. Co-produced with longtime collaborator David Barbe, Heat Lightning Rumbles In The Distance features appearances by the Truckers lineup, Hood’s father (legendary Muscle Shoals session player David Hood), members of Centro-Matic, and Kelly Hogan. – Written by SMarx
