Paul Stewart – Permanence EP

  • July 25, 2012

Vancouver based musician Paul Stewart recently self-released the five-song EP titled Permanence. With a unique sound Stewart describes as “defeatist folk” due to its folk elements and melancholy attitude, the downtempo pieces showcase finely crafted acoustic layers which were recorded with friends over the course of five days. Even the titles evoke despair, (“glass skull”, “horses mouth”, “outpatient”, “hollywood hermit”, and “crowd cocoon”) yet in their quiet beauty there lies a small glimmer of hope. – Written by JFelton
