Randall Bramblett – Juke Joint at the Edge of the World

  • September 28, 2017

Multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter Randall Bramblett has released his 11th studio album Juke Joint at the Edge of the World, recapping a 40+ year career that includes working with country/Americana luminaries like: Gregg Allman, Bonnie Raitt, Levon Helm, Steve Winwood, and Robbie Robertson. The ten tracks that comprise the LP are both uninhibited and diverse and again showcase Bramblett’s polished, literary songwriting style and Southern mix of rock, funk, soul, jazz and blues. Album standouts include: the bluesy opener “Plan B”; the soulful “Pot Hole on Main Street”; the rambling funkiness of “Garbage Man”; and the R&B of “Fine”; the psychedelia, funk-blues infused “Trippy Little Thing”; the contemporary blues-tinged single “I Just Don’t Have the Time”; and even an interesting cover of Beck’s “Devil’s Haircut.” Juke Joint at the Edge of the World is an eclectic and fun album to listen to – it put a big ol’ smile on my face. – Written by JFelton
