Sic Alps – Sic Alps

  • November 3, 2012

You may not have heard of the Bay Area band Sic Alps, but the respected garage pop band is out with their fifth full length, an eponymously titled set of ten distorted, guitar laden tracks. The four piece comprised of Mike Donovan (vocals), Douglas Armour (drums), Tim Hellman (bass), and Noel von Harmonson – with occasional collaborations from Ty Segall, have been working steadily, playing with Pavement in 2010 on the European leg of their tour as well as their own 2011 release Napa Asylum. Sic Alps is a consistently great record full of thoughtful compositions and nuanced layers, however standouts tracks include “God Bless Her, I Miss Her”, “Moviehead”, and the hushed closer ““See You on the Slopes.” – Written by SMarx
