Southeast Engine – Canaanville

  • August 8, 2012

Last spring, Athens, Ohio band Southeast Engine released their fifth album, Canary. Now the folk rockers are out with a four-song appendix EP, Canaanville that also features narratives of life and struggles in Appalachian Ohio during the Great Depression. Once again Southeast Engine transforms with their blend of traditional instrumentation like fingerpicked guitar, fiddle, piano and banjo and rock-informed arrangements. Catch them on their current West Coast tour, which featured excellent performances at Pickathon last weekend, or on Misra Records. – Written by JFelton
