Seasonal Hire is collaborative release by indie folk artist Steve Gunn (formerly of Kurt Vile and The Violators, the Gunn Truscinski Duo, and the Magik Markers) and the Virginia bluegrass band, The Black Twig Pickers. The album combines Gunn’s mesmerizing guitars with lively traditional bluegrass instrumentation, resulting in a warm and vibrant listening experience. Seasonal Hire is a short set, containing four original tunes and the traditional ballad “Do Not Let Your Deal Go Down”, all recorded live with simple production. In true collaborative form, Gunn shares lead vocals and songwriting duties with Mike Gangloff (banjo, fiddle) and Sally Anne Morgan (fiddle).
