Summer-Winter – Bewildered

  • December 6, 2011

Terry O’Hara, a.k.a. Summer-Winter, follows-up his 2010 debut Alone is Yes with the lovely atmospheric folk album, Bewildered. After surviving a vicious mugging in which the ER doctor gave him a month to live, O’Hara holed up in rural Pennsylvania to assess his life. It is from this seclusion and interior journey that Bewildered emerged. Influences of Red House Painters, Sparklehorse and Mohave 3 are present, but O’Hara‘s simple, lovely lyrics and understated vocals are truly the focal point. O’Hara is a backed by Pittsburgh session players on banjo, cello, pedal steel guitar and violin. Notable tracks include “Yer Dead”, “Shine”, and “Drink Till the Drinking.” – Written by SMarx
