THE DEEP DARK WOODS | WINTER HOURS

BLACK HEN MUSIC

The Deep Dark Woods’ sophomore release Winter Hours was recorded live in-studio, capturing a raw emotional sadness. A gorgeous record with exquisite 3-part harmonies and melodies, thoughtful songwriting and clever arrangements; their sound commingles folk, indie rock, bluegrass and gospel through a melancholy traditional country perspective. In spite of the ominous themes present throughout Winter Hours, the music never loses an underlying playfulness.
