DEER TICK | DIVINE PROVIDENCE
Known for their indie folk, Deer Tick’s fourth album Divine Providence showcases both their honky tonk and rock and roll prowess. Raucous and bawdy, bold and unapologetic, the 12 tracks are all about the guys drinking, hanging out and making music. The Rhode Islanders, who have made a name in popular press for their gigs as Deervana, where the band plays all Nirvana covers, tapped Adam Landry and Justin Collins to produce (who also produced the latest from frontman John McCauley’s side project Middle Brother). For an entertaining listen, check out Divine Providence when it debuts October 25th. Top tracks include “The Bump”, “Something To Brag About”, and “Miss K.” – Written by JFelton

DEER TICK | BORN ON FLAG DAY
Brooklyn via Providence, RI transplants Deer Tick release their highly anticipated second album and follow-up to their acclaimed debut War Elephant (reissued in 2008 by Partisan Records.) Deer Tick is John Joseph McCauley III (vocals, multi-instrumentalist), Andrew Grant Tobiassen (guitar), Christopher Dale Ryan (bass), and Dennis Michael Ryan (drums). Starting out as a drums and guitar duo Deer Tick has since evolved into a quartet featuring two guitars, bass and drums, with three members singing and writing and one composing string arrangements. Born on Flag Day is country-tinged indie rock that tips-its-hat to Americana music and the eccentricities of rural living.
