On this follow-up to the debut album Ash Wednesday, Elvis collaborates with an accomplished group of friends whose expertise runs the gamut in experiences with Americana music. Elvis plays guitar and lead vocals with bandmates Brigham Brough (vocals, upright bass, saxophone), Wyndham Boylan-Garnett (vocals, guitar, harmonium, pump organ, trombone), and Nick Kinsey (vocals, percussion, banjo, clarinet). Many of the new songs were honed on the road, allowing the band to continually experiment with new arrangements. Elvis Perkins in Dreamland is enthusiastic and expansive embracing both an exuberance for life and its saddest moments.
