Veck-Ah-Tim-Est, the long-awaited follow-up to Grizzly Bear’s critically praised album Yellow House, chronicles a newly collaborative phase in the band’s discography. The contributions from previously less dominant band members brings a new vocal and lyrical clarity, a refinement of already intricate arrangements and more adventurous production. Guest performers include vocals from Victoria Legrand (Beach House) and string arrangements and vocals from Nico Muhly (composer). Grizzly Bear’s most unified effort to date, Veckatimest yields a more confident, focused and heterogeneous record. Well worth the wait, Veckatimest is due out May 26.
