St. Louis based band Theodore recently signed with Misra Records, and their EP, Blood Signs, is available digitally. The four talented multi-instrumentalists make the most of the six songs and interlude, pulling together a great sampler – not like a bargain bin Whitman’s box of chocolates but like a well-crafted beer flight of seasonal microbrews. From blues to alt-country/folk, from rockabilly to feedback noise, from tender harmonies to driving, amped guitar riffs, Blood Signs encompasses a diverse range of sounds. Leading the way is singer-songwriter Justin Kinkel-Schuster, whose direct lyrics speak to failure, broken relationships as well as hope.
