It’s fitting that prolific singer/songwriter Todd Snider pays tribute to the man who inspired him to launch his solo career on his latest full length, Time As We Know It: Songs of Jerry Jeff Walker. With backing by the band Great American Taxi and legendary producer Don Was (Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones) at the helm, Snider covers fourteen country songs spanning Walker’s career, including the well known American standard “Mr. Bojangles.” Snider, who revels in a laid-back vibe and a genre blending sound with strands of Americana, alt-country, does justice to Walker’s body of work while indulging in what was surely a heartfelt and fun project. – Written by JFelton
