Trout Steak Revival – Brighter Every Day

  • July 5, 2015

Coming off a win at the 41st Telluride Bluegrass Band Competition, Colorado based Trout Steak Revival has released their third full-length, Brighter Every Day. Produced by Chris Pandolfi (The Infamous Stringdusters), this collection features fresh contemporary bluegrass songs with songwriting contributions from each of the band members, first-rate musicianship, lush instrumentation and tight five part vocal harmonies. The band is Steve Foltz (mandolin, guitar), Casey Houlihan (standup bass), Will Koster (dobro, guitar), Travis McNamara (banjo) and Bevin Foley (fiddle). The 11 original tracks on Brighter Every Day are made up of toe-tapping road songs and odes to Colorado. Standouts include: the opening track “Union Pacific”; the title-track; the melodic “Get a Fire Going”; and the instrumental “Sierra Nevada” which highlights Foley’s fiddle playing. Take a listen to this fine gem from an up-and-coming bluegrass band. – Written by JFelton
