Wayne Hancock – Ride

  • March 20, 2013

Traditional country is very much alive and kicking on Wayne “The Train” Hancock’s newest release, Ride. This motorcycle themed anthemic album is Hancock’s eighth and fifth on the Bloodshot Records label. With twang on his lips and divorce and drinking days solidly behind in the rearview mirror, Hancock croons through a collection of tried and true country, tying in strains of juke joint jive, western swing, rockabilly, boogie, and blues with the help of longtime producer Lloyd Maines (Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, Dixie Chicks). Check out standouts such as the title track, “Deals Gone Down”, and “Get the Blues Low Down.” – Written by SMarx
