Wooden Shjips is Ripley Johnson (guitar, vocals), Dusty Jermier (bass), Nash Whalen (organ), and Omar Ahsanuddin (drums), and their third full length album West is a great album of slickly produced experimental psychdelic rock. Recorded by these East Coast natives in San Francisco over the course of six days, the seven songs on West explore the myth of the American West, the land of gold and opportunity, vast open sunny skies.
