Betsy Olson – Lonely Woman Blues

  • April 9, 2010

Native Montanan – now Seattle based – Betsy Olson releases her debut full-length Lonely Woman Blues, a gritty combination of stripped-down blues and indie rock. Olson’s influences range from Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix to the raw, soulful sounds of contemporary acts like The Black Keys and Heartless Bastards. At live shows, Olson’s is a two-piece (guitar, vocals) with Sera Cahoone (drums), however the album Lonely Woman Blues has a fuller sound with the addition of bass and keyboards. If you are a fan of bluesy rock, then I highly recommend checking out Olson’s scrappy guitar hooks and Cahoone’s aggressive drumming. – Written by JFelton
