Milwaukee based Jonathan Burks got his start in music during college in the 90’s as a folk singer in the local music scene and by touring the country by Greyhound/Amtrak and playing open-mics and basement shows, honing his chops while amassing a large catalog of songs. Burks’ most recent release Loudmouth Soup taps into his lust for life with tracks that range from the heartbreaking to the humorous but are always disarmingly honest. Guest performers include members of Milwaukee mainstays The Championship, Wooden Robot, and China Pig who add a punk edginess to Burks’ gritty, country-twinged drinkin’ songs and colorful tales of local characters. – Written by JFelton
