Sonny & the Sunsets, fronted by San Francisco playwright/songsmith/troubadour Sonny Smith, effortlessly drift through 50’s, 60’s and 70’s pop, soul and folk while meshing elements of contemporary indie music into something fresh yet at the same time familiar. The Sunsets – featuring members of Thee Oh Sees, The Fresh & Onlys, Citay, as well as solo musician Kelley Stoltz – largely stay in the background, contributing sparse but thoughtful instrumentation.
