Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno (aka LA duo Best Coast) debuted their first full length Crazy for You on July 27th after releasing 7” EPs over the past year like “Best Coast Sun Was High” and a split 7” with San Diego’s Jeans Wilder. As the band name implies, and kitschy palm tree lined beach album art – complete with Amazonian sized kitten emerging from the ocean – suggests, Crazy For You dives into the sun soaked, hazy beach pop sounds of the 60’s through today, from Beach Boys bass lines to doo wop girl groups, to 90’s indie garage rock. Their brand of lo-fi, feel good tunes are complete with likable melodies, catchy hooks and Cosentino’s full on rocker girl voice.
