Originally from Lancaster, PA, Madi Diaz and her family moved to Philadelphia to attend Paul Green’s School of Rock Music and was featured as a standout pupil in the 2005 documentary Rock School. That experience led to three years at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she met collaborator Kyle Ryan. Now in Nashville, singer/songwriter Diaz blends her staggering voice, poignant melodies, innovative roots based arrangements and touches of indie pop. The Ten Gun Salute EP finds Diaz and Ryan veering away from the sound on their debut Skin and Bone into new sonic territories, incorporating toy pianos, heavy bass, and Americana overtones that give way to imaginative pop structures.
