The British Columbians is the two-year culmination of a collaboration between Girard Knox (vocals, guitars) and Dave Moran (drums, vocals) and the later addition of two additional musicians Christopher Ellis (electric, upright bass) and Owen Connell (keyboards, guitar, pedal steel). The album ranges from gentle songs with touches of banjo to driving juke joint jams that sounds at once familiar and unique upon first listen. The British Columbians is an impressive debut of eclectic blues-rock and Americana that fits along side the best of The Black Keys, The White Stripes and Black Mountain.
