The Amazing – Gentle Stream

  • January 24, 2013

Swedish band The Amazing returns with their second album, Gentle Stream. Their latest collection draws heavily on the sounds of the late 60’s and early 70’s, complete with moody psychedelics ranging from Pink Floyd-esque spaced out jams to Crazy Horse crunchy rockers and more gentle folk sounds that recall Nick Drake. Gentle Stream finds the roots rock band hitting their stride, and while slow to catch on in the States, the album has been steadily winning critical acclaim. Standouts include the ballad “Flashlight”, the rocker “Gone”, the classic rocker “Dogs”, and the more upbeat tracks “International Hair” and “When the Colours Change.” Do yourself a favor and seek out this captivating, memorable listen. – Written by JFelton
