Buxton – Nothing Here Seems Strange

  • February 29, 2012

Hailing from Houston, TX is the sextet Buxton and their third album (and first on a label – New West Records) is a great set of folk infused indie rock. Nothing Here Seems Strange features ten tracks with layered guitars, banjos, mandolin riven with distortion and vocal harmonies. Comprised of Sergio Trevino (vocals/guitar), Jason Willis (guitar/mandolin), Chris Wise (bass), Justin Terrell (drums), Austin Sepulvado (guitar/vocals), and Hayley Barnes (keyboards/vocals), Buxton is well known on the local music scene for their live shows, experimentation, and scrappy determination. Standouts include “Lynchburg Ferry”, “Boy of Nine”, and “Body Count.” – Written by JFelton
