Cicada Rhythm – Everywhere I Go

  • May 11, 2018

Athens, GA-based indie folk band Cicada Rhythm follows-up their excellent 2015 self-titled debut release with Everywhere I Go. The founding duo, Andrea DeMarcus and Dave Kirslis, have expanded their sound considerably with the addition of new members to create a full band that pushes their brand of atmospheric orchestral folk and Americana in new sonic directions. Produced by Kenneth Pattengale (Milk Carton Kids) and Oliver Wood (Wood Brothers), Everywhere I Go was recorded in studios, living rooms, and gospel churches throughout Tennessee and Georgia, culminating in a superb collection of roots-rock numbers, waltzes, porch songs and heartwarming ballads. Even with the fuller sound and accompaniment, the husband-wife team still maintain their charming songcraft whether watching the countryside or taking a deeper look at the world around them. Album highlights include: the rambling opening track “America’s Open Roads”; the lead single “Do I Deserve It Yet?”; the captivating track “Shake Up”; the lively duet “Bare Minimum”; the mellow single “Where the Dogwood Dies”; the sultry “Dream Alone”; and the toe-tapping “In the Garden.” – Written by JFelton
