Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors – Dragons

  • November 20, 2019

Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors are keeping busy, having put out 13 releases in 12 years alongside touring and side projects. Holcomb and Co. follow-up their acclaimed 2017 release, Souvenir with Dragons, with another impassioned collection of earthy folk-pop and roots rock. With Dragons, Holcomb enlisted an impressive list of collaborators (The Lone Bellow, Lori McKenna, wife Ellie Holcomb, et.al.) in an effort to gain new songwriting perspectives and to add some new sounds to the mix. Album standouts include: Holcomb’s infectious folk-pop opener, “Family”; the upbeat rocker “End of the World”; the emotive title-track; a heartfelt rambling duet with his wife Ellie, “But I’ll Never Forget the Way You Make Me Feel”; the tender “See the World”; and the dreamy closing track “Bittersweet.” Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors have created another upbeat and infectious Americana/roots rock gem that is a welcomed addition to their discography. – Written by JFelton
