Prolific alt-country Drive-By Truckers release their 11th record Go-Go Boots this month. It is the second of two albums based on the 35+ songs created over the past year. The first in the series, The Big To-Do, explores the rock side of the Drive-by Truckers’ Muscle Shoals sound, while Go-Go Boots revels in country soul. Led by songwriters Patterson Hood (son of bassist David Hood of the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section) and Mike Cooley, whose 23 year friendship and creative partnership serves as the foundation for the band, Drive-by Truckers is also comprised of the talented Shonna Trucker (bass, songwriting), Brad Morgan (drums), John Neff (guitar/pedal steel) and Jay Gonzalez (keyboards).
