Garrett T. Capps – All Right, All Night

  • October 24, 2019

Garrett T. Capps has had a prolific couple of years with the May 2018 release of the bold space-country album, In the Shadows (Again) and the April 2019 barn-burning honky tonk album Sounds of San Antone with his band the Three Timers. And on August 30, Capps also released the second album in his space-country trilogy – All Right, All Night – a “…deliberate Texas country album in the style of, like, Robert Earl Keen or Pat Green.” What culminated out of the recording sessions was a nine-song EP that combines traditional Texas country, Tex-Mex roots music, and experimental flourishes. All Right, All Night was produced by veteran Texas country producer Adam Odor (Pat Green, Mike and the Moonpies) and features performances by Texas legends Augie Meyers and Lloyd Maines. Album highlights include: the jangly and driving title track; the psychedelic kissed “Sunday Sun”; the rambling “Babe, I’ve got to go”; and the epic space country closer, “Brand New Dance.” If you’re new to Garrett T. Capps he is definitely someone to keep an eye on. Give the very creative and enjoyable All Right, All Night a listen and be sure to check out In the Shadows (Again) and Sounds of San Antone. – Written by JFelton
