Best known for his contributions on piano and backing vocals in the psychedelic Americana band D. Charles Speer & the Helix, Hans Chew takes a solo spin on his debut Tennessee & Other Stories…. On this album Chew explores variations of southern sounds, opening with the three song “Tennessee trilogy”, then on to boogie-woogie in “New Cypress Grove Boogie”, the country waltz “Queen of the Damned Blues” and the gospel laden, saxophone laced closer “Only Son”.
