Jaill – That’s How We Burn

  • August 25, 2010

On the heels of 09’s There’s No Sky (Oh My My) Milwaukee psych-pop group Jaill released their 11 track Sub Pop debut That’s How We Burn. This lo-fi garage band harkens back to 90’s slacker rock glory days, when reverb heavy guitars, witty yet cynic lyrics and effortless energy reigned, but they don’t feel out of place. With singles like “Everyone’s Hip”, the sardonic “Thank Us Later,” the slower marimba styled “Baby I,” and the rootsy folk “Summer Mess”, That’s How We Burn is another great surfer garage rock album that easily sits along side the best of this year’s summer music. – Written by JFelton
