The Migrant – Travels in Lowland

  • November 2, 2010

Danish singer/songwriter Bjarke Bendtsen, frontman of the indie band The Elephants, takes his solo show on the American road as The Migrant. His debut album Travels in Lowland is a catchy collection of psych folk songs which are notable for Bendtsen’s commanding singing voice and acoustic guitar playing. Recorded in Denmark and Fort Worth, TX Travels in Lowland achieves a great balance with a retro pop feel and psychedelic folk underpinnings, aided by accompanying accordion, flute, violin and drums. The Migrant’s debut is an earnest and accessible piece or work, and its companion record Amerika is due next Spring. – Written by JFelton
