J. Roddy Walston and the Business – Hail Mega Boys

  • February 22, 2011

Looking for rock n’ roll that shakes the walls and forces you to move your feet? J. Roddy Walston & the Business are here to fulfill your every whim, as these guys, based out of Baltimore, play some pretty excellent, hard-driving, piano-pounding rock. Hail Mega Boys is their self-released debut, and it does a good job of hinting at the energy and passion that one can only imagine is 100 times greater in person. Songs like “Go For It” and “Rock & Roll the Second” sound like instant crowd-pleasers, the former for its anthemic, stadium-friendly chorus and the latter for its rowdiness and infectious vocals set to the beat of what must be the sturdiest piano in the world for all the pounding and abuse it takes in this song. Music like this shouldn’t be overanalyzed, but enjoyed, and Hail Mega Boys is just plain fun. – Written by DBosket
