Tom Brislin – Hurry Up and Smell the Roses

  • December 12, 2012

New Jersey native and Nashville resident Tom Brislin has released his debut solo album of melodic cinematic pop, Hurry Up and Smell the Roses. The songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and member of the former indie pop band Spiraling is backed by musicians Clint Lagerberg (guitar), Annie Haslam (vocals) and Shueh-li Ong (Theremin) on this Kickstarter funded project. Brislin’s collection is finely crafted and well executed, with expertly played keys at the core of many of the songs that span from melancholy pop to dreamy, prog rock. Standouts among the eleven tracks include the upbeat love song “Your Favorite Day”, the jazz instrumental infused “I Hold a Candle”, and the peppy synth number “Industry In The Distance.” – Written by SMarx
