Troubel – The Mountains. The Broken.

  • October 24, 2011

From atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in Boone, NC is Troubel, a folk band that I recently discovered who I am really excited about. Their debut album from last December, The Mountains. The Broken. is a nine track collection of beautiful traditional folk and Americana. Initially the solo venture of Adam Walton (vocals, guitar, banjo), the band expanded to a five-piece with a full set of strings, including cello and violin, provided by former members of the Raleigh band Carolina Roadkill. Inspired by the mountains, the contemporary lyrics are upbeat and filled with hope, which is fitting for this promising group of musicians. – Written by JFelton
