Thistled Spring is the follow-up to Horse Feathers’ 08 stark winter soundscape House with No Home. Although the new record stays within the pastoral melancholy Americana/folk the band is known for, Thistled Spring is an album of revival and renewed optimism, evoking springtime and life. Singer/songwriter Justin Ringle’s delicate vocals are accompanied by a heavily string laden sound with sparse swells of violin and cello. In less than forty minutes, Thistled Spring is another incredibly consistent addition to Horse Feather’s already great catalog while managing to be both gentle and majestic. – Written by JFelton
