The Philadelphia-based indie-rock trio Good Old War (Keith GOODwin, Tim ArnOLD and Daniel SchWARtz) formed just a couple years ago, yet they have already established a name for themselves with polished songwriting and beautifully harmonized vocals. For their latest self titled album, Good Old War retreated to a remote house in the Poconos to refine their acoustic folk-rock, layering multi-part harmonies over finger-picked guitar and fast-paced country rhythms. What resulted was a great album rich with themes of love, loss and addiction, that utilizes new instruments, techniques and conventions, pushing the boundaries of Good Old War’s familiar indie rock/folk sound. – Written by JFelton
