Sleepy Sun – Fever

  • August 3, 2010

San Francisco psych rock band Sleepy Sun’s new release Fever comes quickly on the heels of their 09 debut full length Embrace. Combining stirring melodies with surreal vocals and spare acoustic arrangements featuring distorted guitar and drums, Fever taps neatly into a resurgent 60’s folk vibe that that has been popular with many indie acts the past decade or so. Standouts include: “Marina”, “Wild Machines”, “Desert God” and “Sandstorm Woman.” Fever is a well-crafted album of textured, expansive rock, which should be of great interest to classic rock fans. – Written by JFelton
