Portland, Oregon based multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Ben Larsen (Crow and the Canyon, The Giraffe Dodgers) release’s his solo project Turn a soulful mix of folk, country, bluegrass, chamber pop with hints of psychedelia. Turn was engineered by Justin Phelps and co-produced with his bandmate Gavin Duffy and was accompanied by Tyler Thompson (Fruition) on drums, Tony Furtado (Alison Krauss, Tim O’Brien) on banjo, Paul Brainard (Caleb Klauder, M Ward) on pedal steel, and Laura T. Lewis and Leigh Jones (Five Letter Word) on vocals. Album highlights include: the soulful first single “Turn,” the rolling introspective track “Time,” the full string quartet driven “Your Voice’s Sound,” the uplifting “Wind That Sweeps Your Pine,” and the gorgeous, reflective closing track “Seeds.” Ben Larsen’s Turn is a gorgeous, lush and soulful filled with perfect harmonies, timeless lyrics and superb instrumentation throughout the record.
