Sean Carey, of the popular Wisconsin indie folk band Bon Iver, makes his solo debut with All We Grow. Trained as a classical percussionist with a passion for jazz drumming, Carey brings significant contributions to Bon Iver’s sound through piano, drums and as a backing vocalist, however on All We Grow Carey’s all around talent shines. Recorded over a number of years in both his home studio and at Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon’s home, the long production yielded a fine level of craftsmanship on this album filled with acoustic guitar, softly haunting choral vocals and hushed ambient noise. All We Grow showcases Carey’s development beyond the Bon Iver identity through his own sonic explorations which push beyond the boundaries of the band’s sound , making for a captivating album that will win over fans of the band and beyond. – Written by JFelton
