Madison, WI singer-songwriter Mike Behrends released the lovely debut full-length album New Feet – a collection of folk/alt-country/Americana songs featuring banjos, hard driving electric guitars, harmonicas and snare drums. New Feet is a solid set of murder ballads, country songs, and reflections on love and religion allowing it to easily fit alongside traditional songwriting as well as contemporary indie acts. Standout tracks include opener “Church Songs”, the haunting waltz “Enough About Me” and the charged Americana song “Dead Men Don’t”. New Feet is sparse, clean, and refined, highlighting Behrends’ soft voice and strong storytelling – this is an album I’ve been enjoying for the past few weeks. – Written by JFelton
