Pureka’s lyrics are literate, well-crafted, and darkly insightful, musing on abandoned buildings, shipwrecked sailors and broken hearts as heard on tracks like the haunting “Hangman”, the rhythmic strums of “Broken Clock”, the driving, melodic “Lowlands” and the mesmerizing, painful longing in the masterful “Time Is the Anchor”.
