Daniel Norgren – Wooh Dang

  • May 16, 2019

For over a decade, 35-year-old Swedish singer/songwriter Daniel Norgren has released eight albums that draw heavily upon the musical traditions of the American south. His latest, Wooh Dang, is comprised of ten songs in which Norgren shares his affinity for a range of American roots/Americana music. Notable tracks include: a swinging southern blues-tinged number “Dandelion Time”; the languid ballad “Let Love Run the Game”; the brooding piano ballad “The Flow”; the reflective “So Glad”; the soulful “Rolling Rolling Rolling”; and the Latin tinged “When I Hold You In My Arms.” Norgren’s Wooh Dang is easily one of my favorite records this spring, and will likely be in heavy rotation throughout the summer. If you’re new to Norgren’s music, be sure to also give the rest of his catalog a listen – there is not a bad album in the bunch. – Written by JFelton
