Daniel Steinbock – Out of Blue

  • May 16, 2019

Santa Rosa, California singer/songwriter Daniel Steinbock follows-up two stellar self-released EP’s with his debut full-length album, Out of Blue – an unhurried, soulful album about love and hope even during heartache and trying times. Steinbock recorded Out of Blue in the mountains just east of Sonoma county this past October while one of the most destructive wildfires in California history threatened his home, adding an introspective quality to the songs on the album. Out of Blue also features a number of notable guest musicians (the Rainbow Girls, John Craige, Ayla Nereo) who bring a little extra sparkle to this gem of an album. Standout tracks include: the gentle opener, “Pin Needles”; the soulful “Good News”; the reflective love ballad “13 September”; the contemplative “Too Close to You”; and the beautiful duet with Ayla Nereo on “‘The Shadow, The Wolves.” Out of Blue is a very solid debut from this up-and-coming talent. As a new fan, I look forward to hearing more from Daniel Steinbock in future releases. – Written by JFelton
