Dolorean – The Unfazed

  • March 1, 2011

Portland, OR based country-rockers Dolorean are issuing their fourth full-length album, The Unfazed, the widely anticipated follow-up to last year’s Anticipation Blues EP. A critic’s favorite since their 2001 debut, Dolorean has a lot to prove with their latest on Partisan records, and they deliver, with their characteristic mellow, world weary country rock slightly more amped. In addition to the subtle drums, muted guitars, melodic touches of piano, again we find the nuanced songwriting and delicate, soft tones of lead singer Al James. The Unfazed speaks of the hardships and disappointments of life, but doesn’t indulge in self-pity nor revel in the pain; instead the band remains quietly defiant; unfazed. Notable tracks include the title track, “Thinskinned”, and “Black Hills Gold.” – Written by JFelton
