Brighton, England three-piece Esben & the Witch are making waves with their neo-gothic gloom rock debut album Violet Cries. The band (who takes their name after the dark Danish fairy tale) construct an electronic ambiance filled with bizarre and electric imagery (including references to Greek mythology), and related through slightly incoherent lyrics. While their sound is exciting, with a unique flavor, the young band has room for growth, and I look forward to seeing where they go next. – Written by JFelton
