Side project or supergroup, no matter which way you put it, Middle Brother is simply a great band. Having made their debut at SXSW in 2010, Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), John McCauley (Deer Tick) and Matthew Vasquez (Delta Spirit) will release their self-titled album of alt-country/folk/soul tinged rock on March 1st. The three frontmen, who are known for their songwriting abilities as well as their vocal talents, work together well, harmonizing and blending their styles, resulting in a collection of songs that are fun, at times raw or playful, yet genuine. Touching on themes of heartbreak and hope, glory and self-indulgent carousing, Middle Brother is a solid album, which is fitting for this group who is quickly becoming a must-see band. – Written by JFelton
