Morning River Band – Morning River Band EP

  • November 15, 2010

Unsigned New Jersey quartet Morning River Band packs 5 songs in under 10 minutes on their self-titled Americana EP. With Jeffrey Fields (vocals, guitar, harmonica) at the helm, opener “This Heart of Mine” is a heartbroken lament dominated by pedal steel guitar and harmonica riffs, while on the opposite end, closer “Death Is So Many Women” features fuzzy, distorted blues. However it is the track “O Pittsburgh” that hits closest to home for this Steel City native, with its mournful twang and the hopeful lyrics “O Pittsburgh / do you love me anymore?” For some good old time, country rock tunes, spend a few minutes listening to the Morning River Band at Bandcamp. – Written by JFelton
