Sam Moss – Neon

  • September 21, 2018

New England based singer/songwriter and guitar virtuoso Sam Moss is making a name for himself through his elaborate fingerpicking skills and polished songcraft. Moss follows-up his 2016 release Fable with Neon – a quiet, reflective release that invokes night life in a big city…buzzing street lamps, dark alleys, bright colored neon signs. For Neon, Moss recruited some notable Boston musicians to collaborate and record with including: Justine Bowe (Photocomfort), Benjamin Burns (Honeysuckle), Daniel Radin (The Novel Ideas), Rachel Sumner (Twisted Pine), and Michael Siegel. Together they create richly stirring songs that combine elements of folk and country. Standout songs on this nine track collection include: the emotive title track; the beautifully striking “Flowers”; the intricately fingerpicked train song “Slow”; the gorgeously simple “Snap”; and the bittersweet “Here Again.” Neon is an absolutely gorgeous album from a young talent. If you’re into The Milk Carton Kids or Ryley Walker, you should definitely give Sam Moss a listen as he is equally as talented as his contemporaries. – Written by JFelton
