Telekinesis – Parallel Seismic Conspiracies

  • January 29, 2011

People’s ears pricked up last April on Record Store Day, after hearing Telekinesis’ 7-inch release, “Dirty Thing.” The brainchild of Michael Benjamin Lerner, Telekinesis puts out straightforward power pop that has unrelenting drums, power chords, and some damn fine hooks. While fans wait for his sophomore release later this year, Lerner has a brisk EP out right now is just a bit over 10 minutes long. Parallel Seismic Conspiracies is five tracks, including a full-band version of “Calling All Doctors” and a cover of Guided By Voices’ “Game of Pricks.” For the most part, it’s just a longer version of the “Dirty Thing” 7-inch, but this is a great EP to tide you over until February when 12 Desperate Straight Lines comes out. – Written by DBosket
