George and Caplin – Secluded Malls and Scenic Byways

  • August 19, 2010

One would that that a group named George and Caplin would have musicians with those names in it, but Denver’s Jason Fredrick Iselin and Jeffrey Wentworth Stevens are experimenters, twisting the folk convention with their self-described “bootgaze music”. Together since 01, George and Caplin‘s twelve track Secluded Malls and Scenic Byways features their finely honed blend of psychedelic, ambient, shoegaze and folk, and the years of playing music together is evident in the overall strength of the atmospheric sonic soundscape of the album. Secluded Malls and Scenic Byways is gorgeous, musically complex collection of quietly sweet melodies and textures that reveal beauty with every listen. – Written by JFelton
